The best rains never let you know they're coming.
They sneak up on you, letting you think the sky hasn't changed, the sun hasn't hidden.
Then just like that, a few pecks at your window turn into a drumline, and you see the whole world has turned gray and wet.
That's the best time to write.
During the day, when light still inspires your mind, and in the rain, when the world becomes misty and mysterious. Rainy days aren't the best days, anymore than sunny days are. Thankfully, here in Ohio, we have a variety of both within the same hour, let alone single day.
When the rain comes, I like to open my front door to my apartment and just smell the sweetness. Rain brings out all sorts of flavors in our world we would have missed. There are some people who are like that. They see what others miss, appreciate what others don't. Pay attention to those people. Draw near to them. They will teach you a thing or two about life.
